South Cliff Holiday Park, Bridlington

Family fun holiday park, close to Bridlington, with a great atmosphere!

April 2022

Arriving at South Cliff, our first impression was that the site was modern and well kept. We arrived at reception and was met by the friendly team who checked us in and showed us to our pitch. When we booked our pitch, we chose at the time of booking and we chose pitch number 01, we opted to be close to the park as we have two children to keep an eye on. The location was perfect for us, we could see the park at all times and we were also close to the toilet/shower block – view the holiday park site map.

The play park for the children is a good size compared to other places we have stayed and this meant the kids had hours of fun. There is also a skate/scooter park close by for the older children to use.

The touring/camping area is located across the road from the main complex (approx. a 5 – 10 minute walk). The main complex had two entertainment rooms, amusement arcade, restaurant, fish & chip shop, convenience store and a launderette. One of the entertainment rooms was where the kid’s entertainment and acts performed, with a late-night disco, and the other room had a more relaxed atmosphere with sports showing on TV and they also hosted bingo and a quiz. There was something for everyone to enjoy (even though we didn’t win at bingo!). Next door to the entertainment rooms was a decent sized amusement arcade (parents have your £1’s at the ready!).

The holiday park is located within a 10 – 15 minute walk of the sea front with access to the beach. There isn’t much else at the beach at this point, however, if you walk along the path, you can be in Bridlington town centre within 30 minutes. If you prefer, there is a park and ride stop next to the beach and you can be in town within 10 minutes via the bus.

Bridlington is a fab little seaside town full of lots of fun things to see and do. There is a fun fair, plenty of amusement arcades and shops. If you are feeling adventurous you can also take a pirate ship or a speed boat out to sea. We opted to take the pirate ship as this was the children’s choice, however, the speed boat looked like lots of fun if you have older children!

There is a variety of shops from well-known brands to quaint little gift shops and when you are all shopped out, there is lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from. There is a brilliant pub close to the fun fair that has a HUGE play area inside – you must check it out if you have smaller children, they will be happy for hours and you can take in the sea views!

There is also a swimming complex in town, East Riding of Yorkshire Complex, if you fancy a dip as South Cliff holiday park doesn’t have it’s own swimming pool.

Away from town, there is plenty to see and do with Scarborough, Filey and Hornsea being close by. For more info, please click here.

We found this holiday park a great place to stay for a few nights but we could have easily stayed longer as we didn’t get to see everything the area had to offer.

We would highly recommend a stay at South Cliff Holiday Park, the toilets and showers were immaculate, there is plenty for the children to do and lots to do in the local area within walking distance or within a short drive.

We look forward to visiting again soon!
