Stay at Parkwood Outdoors, Dolygaer, the Ultimate Adventure Centre situated south of the picturesque Brecon Beacons near Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. We offer family and group activity holidays, educational residential courses, and corporate team-building activities with plenty of things to do to keep everyone entertained of all ages.

Choose your base from a selection of accommodations or camping, with stunning views across the reservoir, river, hills and mountains. We have two camping areas to choose from, Stream Side campsite or Reservoir View Campsite, plus 5 Yurts, a lodge, chalet and cottage.
Once you have decided how to you would like to stay, then add your adventure from a wide range of daytime activities such as Stand Up Paddleboarding, Rock Climbing, Gorge Walking plus many more...with options available for 8 years plus and all abilities.

We are a team of passionate experienced instructors and are committed to delivering a safe, unique and memorable experience, making Dolygaer the perfect setting for you to enjoy your favourite activities or even try something completely new. After a day of activities, relax in the sun at our outdoor cafe and sun deck, whilst you top up on our tempting sweet treats, freshly cooked by our incredible on-site chefs. You will find a great selection of snacks and hot/cold drinks, served daily from the reception cafe area. During the summer months, you can indulge in our infamous stone baked Pizzas from our quirky outdoor Pizza Wagon (Vegan & Gluten-free options available upon request).

We are open all year round and have activities available to suit the seasons.

    How to Find us

    By Road

    Located in the south of the Brecon Beacons, Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer is a 15 minute drive north of Merthyr Tydfil and 30 minutes from the picturesque tourist town of Brecon. The centre can be found among rolling hills, overlooking the Pontsticill Reservoir, providing a scenic location for the centre’s base and accommodation. The centre is approximately a 45 minute drive from the M4 at Cardiff and an hour from the M50. To find our location, please input CF48 2UR into your sat nav.

    By Train

    The closest Train Station is Merthyr Tydfil which is a 25 minute drive away. Taxi services are available.

    Campsite Terms & Conditions

    We do allow family and group bookings. For full terms and conditions, please contact us. Here are our main rules and regulations:
    Camping must be pre booked before pitching your tent, please request permission at the reception desk.
    Staying at our campsite means that you accept our Camping Rules and abide by them.
    Please put your tent within the pitch allocated to you and do not exceed the designated boundaries.
    Reception opening hours are normally between 9.00 and 17.30 hours but may be subject to change.
    It is not allowed to play wild, boisterous games that might disturb other campers.
    All campers are requested to avoid excessive noise and loud conversations that might disturb other campers.
    Quiet time is mandatory between 23.00 and 08.00 hours.
    Dogs and other pets are not permitted to walk free on the campsite, nor are they allowed to use the campsite as a toilet. If an accident should occur, the owner is responsible for cleaning up.
    Visitors are allowed at the campsite between 10.00 and 20.00 hours.
    Do not do anything that might spoil the neatness, hygiene or appearance of the campsite.
    Please dispose of all garbage, rubbish and glass in the designated bins.
    Please leave toilets, showers and washing up areas clean and tidy.
    Anyone causing damage to our trees, plants, shrubs, fences or camping facilities will be held financially responsible.
    Please leave your designated pitch the way you found it on arrival.
    Each camper is responsible for his/her own possessions. The management can not be held responsible for theft or damages to any property belonging to campers.
    Open fires are only allowed using our designated fire pits. These can be hired from reception.
    Please do not cut down / damage trees for firewood. Firewood is available at reception. Barbecuing may only take place under the supervision of an adult. Do not leave the fire unattended until it has gone out completely. BBQs must be elevated from the ground.
    In the event of a fire please notify a member of staff and ring 999. There is a public phone by the lodge.
    Any violation of our Camping Rules may lead to eviction from the campsite.
    Arrivals are between 11.00 and 21.00 hours.
    Departure is between 08.00 and 11.00 hours. Should you leave later in the day, we must charge you the rate of a full day unless pre arranged.
